Eu fiz um sabão! (I made a soap)
This past Saturday I went with a friend to a workshop about making your own soaps!Yes, soaps! :)
I've been investigating the process for a wile (I told about the resolution of replacing all the cosmetics and detergents for a greener version) but I was afraid of trying it by myself.
C came and we went to “Erva limão” and is was as interesting as it was fun!
We learned to make glycerine soap and handmade soap (cold process) but it was these last ones I was interested in.
In the workshop we learned the basics and made soap to bring with us and today was time to remove it from the mould!! :))
After 2 days in the dark the look weren't good (the improvised mould didn't help...)
so I had to prepare everything first:
- safety protection gloves (the soap is still dangerous for the skin at this stage)
- grease paper
- knife
E voilá!! :)
Now they will have to wait in the dark again for 4 week curing.
Depois estarão prontos a utilizar!! Mal posso esperar! :))
And then they will be ready to be used!! I can't wait! :))
These soaps will be used on skin since they were enriched with coconut, palm and essential oils.
My next solo experience (a bit afraid of that...) will be with a 100% olive oil to use as detergent (for clothes and dishes!
I'm starting to feel like a soap maker :))

Doesn't it look pretty!? :) The spots are Calendula petals that we add.
